Interview With My Boyfriend | On Becoming A New Dad

becoming a dad

This is the second interview in the series with Jonny. Even though Alfie is nearly 2, his answers are based on when Alfie was newborn.

If you haven’t already please check out his answers on pregnancy and birth.

What is your favourite thing about being a dad so far?

Watching my little man growing up is amazing.

What is your least favourite thing about being a dad so far?

I hate sleepless nights, it fucks me off {charming}

Did you feel a bond with Alfie straight away or did it take a while?

It took a little while as you were the one that carried him. I think it took about a week to sink in!

Were you glad I didn’t breast feed?

I was happy to go with what you wanted as it was your choice. I was glad I could feed him myself though!

What advice would you give to new dads?

Pull your weight and be hands on. Times have changed and you need to be a team and do it 50/50. {Couldn’t have put it better myself!}

How many children would you like?

3 would be nice. After having a boy I would love a girl now. Alfie is a mummy’s boy so I need a little princess.

What are you looking forward to as he grows up?

I can’t wait to watch him play football and to play football with him. To take him to Ashton Gate as well to watch Bristol City! and to have some beers with him! {got a few years to wait for beers!}

What are you not looking forward to as he grows up?

Not looking forward to him being a teenager and going out without us knowing where he is! And all the drugs that are around these days make me worried.

How have you changed since becoming a dad?

I have grown up a lot and I feel a lot more responsible. My priorities have changed and I’m hungrier to succeed.

How have I changed since becoming a mum?

You have grown up and are less of a piss head now {I never was a piss head thanks!}

What is your opinion on my post-baby body?

It’s nice to have a bit of meat on you and you have lovely bazookas now. {who said romance is dead ‘ey?}

And finally, how are you coping with a nearly 2 year old?

I love it! You do the hard work in the day when I’m working though! He is a little monkey and I love him!

Again his answers are not a bad as I thought they would be. It’s lovely to hear his honest opinions on it all!
